Giselle had always been certain she wanted to teach. She’d embraced her job in a big state school. She had poured her heart and soul into it.
She’d turned her department around practically single-handedly. Her pupils were getting great results.
But she wasn’t appreciated or valued. She was treated like everybody’s workhorse, piled every day with all the jobs no one else wanted.
In meetings she felt unseen and unheard. She couldn’t stand up for herself so her ideas were claimed by another staff member who got the credit for them. Then she was passed over for promotion in favour of a male colleague nowhere near as competent as she was – but who knew how to put himself forward.
Inside she was at screaming pitch. Yet still she couldn’t find her voice to assert herself, get herself noticed, set boundaries, or shine.
She felt bitterly let down by teaching. She had lost all the joy in it and enthusiasm she had once had.
SHE BLAMED HERSELF
She blamed herself for putting up with so much for so long. But she’d lost too much confidence to go for another post. And what if any other school treated her just the same? Maybe it was something about her.
She felt drained, bruised, and stuck in a job she had started to hate. Then she discovered her husband was cheating, and when she confronted him he walked out.
It was the last straw. After a nervous collapse she was diagnosed with depression and prescribed a month’s rest and pills.
She took the rest but said no to the pills.
Instead she started working with me.
It wasn’t an easy decision for her. Not after everything she’d tried before. Career life coaching. Hypnosis. Yoga classes. Self-help books. Even an online coaching course to help her stand up for herself.
And there she was. A lot of time and money and very little had changed.
But she wasn’t ready to give up.
As we worked to identify and change Giselle’s blind spots and subconscious programming, she began to uncover her true self – and she realised this really was a completely different kind of work. In her own words, she could ‘literally feel the power coursing through her veins’.
She was able to deeply and truly forgive herself for her past mistakes, freeing her to love herself as the marvellous woman she truly is.
And as she connected with her life purpose, she realised educating was still her passion – she just needed to be in a very different relationship with it.
She stopped feeling guilty about leaving the state system. It was time to choose herself. On fire with her glorious life energy that we had released, she applied for a post in an exclusive girls’ school in Montreal with an all-female faculty – and she got it.
Today Giselle is living the marvellous life she deserves. (Six weeks after moving to Canada she met a fantastic man, too!)
RECLAIMING YOUR POWER
When we feel stuck, caged, trapped into living each day as a false self, we need to delete the toxic programming in our subconscious.
Our subconscious layers are congested with ‘junk’, accumulated from our needing to survive in this upside-down world. We need to free and clear them – so our energy can flow freely and powerfully, and we’re in alignment. (Instead of being in stress and self-sabotage because our conscious and subconscious are pulling against each other.) Then we need to re-programme in those awesome, positive beliefs we choose to hold, so we can manifest the very life we want!
Actually, it’s not rocket science. It’s a lot easier than you might imagine (or than you might have been led to believe). If you’d like to find out more, grab a copy of my ebook, User’s Manual for Your Mind, by clicking here.
